Music Monday: Lykke Li

Music Monday today will feature Lykke Li. I think I've featured 'I'm Good. I'm Gone' on one of my other blogs before. There's just something about her. Jason doesn't care much for her and laughs everytime I play her videos but ...pfftt.... whatever.

Her second studio album 'Wounded Rhymes' is out and it's got this sad, melancholic sorta feel about it. You should totally check out 'Sadness is a Blessing' directed by Tarik Saleh. It sorta captures the whole mood of the album.

My absolute favourite track is 'Love out of Lust'. Not a normally likeable title for me but, the song's pretty cool. :)

It's always lovely to chance upon a little gem of a read and this is beginning to be my go-to poem when I need to find rest and peace in the midst of a busy world. The Peace of Wild Things BY  WENDELL BERRY When despair for the world grows in me and I wake in the night at the least sound in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be, I go and lie down where the wood drake rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds. I come into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief. I come into the presence of still water. And I feel above me the day-blind stars waiting with their light. Knitted together

Picture by Daniel Seliong The Tailor-Made Man is a powerful play and it's been awesome hearing the various accounts and reviews by people who caught it over the weekend. I didn't get the chance to watch it in its entirety but working behind-the-scenes on it brought a unique experience I never thought I'd have. I agreed to help out not because I'm amazing at theatre productions but I was there solely because Jason (JD) needed people to help with the play. Being a close friend and brother to me, I knew how much this production meant to him and decided that I would do all I could to help out. Little did I know, I would be in over my head! I joined the props and stage team where I felt my interest in crafting and designing could be put to use.
